Emmeline Cook Elementary School is a K-5 public school. It opened in 1954 and was originally going to be called Northpoint School. A contest was held with a local school student suggesting the winning name of Emmeline Cook. Cook was the first school teacher in Oshkosh, and taught in a one room cabin at the end of Bowen St owned by Webster Stanley. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
