Geocache Description:

While hiking in the Thicket I came across two piles of illegally dumped trash back on the old road and thought having a clean up is a good way to support the NPS and help protect one of our most important ecological resources.

Since we're a bunch of trashy people anyway, we just as well meet, enjoy the beautiful outdoors and clean up some more trash. We're getting pretty good at it now. And if you have kids who need community service hours, this will qualify as the Thicket will register participants as volunteers and award service hours for participation.

Where: Lance Rosier Unit of the Big Thicket, Little Rock Road south of Kountze

When: Sunday Dec. 7 at 2PM-4PM. It won't take that long but we can hang out and visit afterwards.

What to bring: Gloves, water and maybe a rake. The Thicket will probably provide bags and we will deposit the trash at the research center in Saratoga. Bring snacks if you would like to have an after event tailgate party.

Permission received from the Big Thicket to hold the event.
