Geocache Description:

This cache is in a  stunning location near a tarn at the base of The  Pinnacle, a landmark peak in Hatcher Pass. An hour of pretty easy boulder scrambling can get you there. Not to be missed!  I named the cache for my older daughter, with whom I first came up here.

Park at Independence Mine parking area (a day use pass or 5.00 fee is required). Head up the winding trail toward Gold Cord Lake, but before it starts climbing, veer off to the left and climb the boulder field leading up to the next pocket to the North. You will be hiking toward The Pinnacle. At the top is a large ampitheater, and you will be circling around it to the right. Last year DeRanger and I tried going the left route and ran into some trouble, so I'd recommend the right side. Here again you top out in a relatively level oblong rock basin. Make your way by whatever route works across it and up yet another boulder strewn slope, bearing left to pass between the large hill and the Pinnacle. You will come first to a small tarn, but your aim is the larger one, a little farther North. Once you reach this tarn, look for a cairn on the left side. Go to it and look back at the tarn - the cache is under the large rock right between you and the water. It might be covered with snow late into the summer, so August and September are going to be the most likely times to find the cache.

It took me just under an hour to make it to GZ, but it isn't a terribly hard hike since it's largely boulder hopping - a slow process, but the slowness makes it less tiring.
