Geocache Description:

The cache is very close to the Budapest British Military Cemetery. You will find over 200 graves, mostly from the Second World War and 1 from the First World War. Nice place to think about those that gave their lives for us.

The Budapest British Military Cemetery was consecrated on 2nd May 1947 in Solymár, 15 km to the West of Budapest.  The land was donated by the Hungarian Government and the soldiers' bodies were gathered from all over the country.  Those lying there are mostly members of the Royal Air Force who fell between 1939 and 1945. The one exception is Henry James Cullimore who was in the Royal Navy in the First World War.  He died on a patrol boat on the Danube when it caught fire in late 1919.

The cemetery is beautifully looked after and has a special atmosphere which is conducive to self reflection.

It is situated right next to Route 10 and can be reached either by bus or by car. There is a large Auchan hypermarket nearby, so you can catch a bus there and walk 700 metres, or catch a bus going to Dorog or Esztergom, in which case there will be a bus stop right next to the cemetery.  Alternatively you can drive and park in the cemetery's own car park.

The small kitchen box of 15cm x 10cm x 5cm is at the bottom of the metal fence's NE corner.
