ECM41 Remembered Traditional Geocache

A cache in memory of ECM41 who passed away near here while hiking to GCD.  Those who knew Eric will never forget his enthusiasm for life, his support of his friends, or his love of his family. 

The cache is within 10 feet of the trail.

Early on the morning of Sunday, August 17, 2014, many geocachers from around the world were headed to Snoqualmie Pass for the Ape Mega Event and, for some, a trip to Washington State's oldest active geocache, GCD.  Eric McDonald (ECM41) was joined on that journey by his daughter, KayLynn, and his friend since childhood, Brian Hoover (Hoovers69).

As they headed up the trail Eric suffered a heart attack. Only 43, he passed away in spite of receiving immediate CPR and help from many geocachers. This cache has been placed as both a memorial to Eric and as a place to remember him. All cachers are welcome to find this cache.
