Portsoy war memorial stands outside the hall on Seafield Street. It is a rectangular block with a flared base standing on a two-step base of rough hewn granite blocks. It is surmounted by a kilted soldier with Glengarry, standing head bowed holding an inverted rifle. The statue is carved from silver-grey Creetown graniteand was the work of Messrs Stewart & Co, Aberdeen. It commemorates the dead of both World War I and II. Below the main inscription on the front is a carved wreath. The memorial is surrounded by a small wrought-iron enclosure. It was unveiled 11 November 1923 by Colonel J. J. George, of Macduff, Deputy Lieutenant and County Convener.
