Geocache Description:

A church micro cache in the lovely village of Ashton under Hill.


The village church, St Barbara's is reputedly the only church in England dedicated to St Barbara who is alleged to afford protection from lightning strikes. In 2005, villagers celebrated the 900th anniversary of the church.

You will need to gather the info from various parts of the churchyard to find the cache.

1. In what year was the church 'lychgate' gateway erected? 19AB

2. What year did Annie Amelia die? CDEF

3. What year is on the bench within the church grounds? 19GH

(Note there are two benches and only one has the date plaque)

4. What year did Frank Whittle die? 19JK
