Geocache Description:

The first mention of this royal settlement on the bank of the Szamos is in relation to its church: its priests appear in the 1332-34 record of papal tithes.. tower was built in 1837 he south side of the nave. The southern wall of the nave and the sanctuary preserves Gothic windows with tracery. The imprint of the former vault of the sanctuary can also be seen along with traces of the springs of the ribs. The medieval church building was built in a single period. In the 1980s, a brick was unearthed during renovations with the year 1481 inscribed on it, perhaps the date of construction. Based on the quality of the carved elements, the Drágfi family probably had a role in the construction.
