This winter-friendly park and grab is placed in honor of my mom, who turns 53 this month.
The cache name is derived from one of the most popular herbal legends featuring four thieves during medieval times. In short, these thieves were robbing the dead who had perished from [insert your favorite plague here]. Everyone thought karma would eventually catch up with them and they too would contract the deadly disease - but it never happened. What was their secret? Trickery? Magic?
When they were finally caught, they bargained for leniency in exchange for sharing their secret recipe which had protected them from illness. The recipe, which traditionally contains a mixture of herbs has almost as many variations as its legend itself.
