Geocache Description:

This cache, and two others, will take you along the Whyte River Walk and enhances the experience of the Tarkine Wilderness.  You will NOT have to leave the track for this cache. Please be sure to replace this cache carefully so that it does not roll off the edge.

The experience of driving through the Tarkine Wilderness is enhanced with a stroll through the rain forest.  Starting this circuit walk at the end of the camping ground behind the car park, is called The Whyte River Walk.  It takes you along the Pieman River to where the Whyte River intersects, then along the Whyte River and back into the Corinna Village.  The walk is about an hour and a quarter, with only about 30 steps [twice] in the first half and then some aerobic tree rooted track towards the end.  A very worth while walk, this area is steeped in history some of which can be read on the public boards and information shelter at Corinna village. This walk is famous for its autumn Fungi and for its platypus sightings.
