Introduction to TAPE
The Adam Park Enigma (TAPE) is a series of 5 mystery caches placed around the Adam Park residential estate. 4 of the caches (Parts 1 – 4) are ordinary mystery caches where you have to solve a puzzle to find the coordinates of the final cache. The puzzle for Part 5 is requires information placed in the first four caches, so you will need to complete the first four caches before you can attempt Part 5.
This is the final part of the series. You will need to solve and find the caches of the first 4 parts to able to solve the puzzle below. The other caches in the series are:
Part 1: The Confounding Compounds
Part 2: When Will My Reflection Show?
Part 3: You Need To Be More Flexible!
Part 4: This Isn’t My Type of Thing
TAPE Part 5: “…the Things No One Can Imagine”
The tale than spanned four caches has now reached its conclusion. The Battle of Adam Park is slowly being rediscovered over 70 years after it happened and the Enigma cipher lives on in history as the Allies secret triumph over the Germans in a war that threatened to consume the world.
Our journey, too, has hopefully come to an end. With the four settings discovered and with the final cipher in hand, now, all that remains is to crack the code.
The final clue you need is the initial setting, or the Grundstellung, for the machine. Here it is:
A – P – P
This stands for the Adam Park Project, a battlefield project undertaken by a team of archaeologists in collaboration with the University of Glasgow. Their aim was to learn as much as they could about the battles that took place here by excavating the compounds of the many houses in Adam Park.
Their work has revealed a lot about the battles and the men that sacrificed their lives here, and formed the basis of this cache series. So, I would like to acknowledge the project teams’ contribution to helping me on the research for this project and for their work in uncovering an almost forgotten piece of the island’s history.
You will find below the final puzzle of the series. Good luck and I hope you had fun cracking the puzzles in the Adam Park Enigma series!

I had been toying around with the idea of making an Enigma-based cache for some time now, after I had heard that a film, "The Imitation Game" had been made detailing the life of Alan Turing, a man truly ahead of his time, and yet, still met a tragic fate. There is another great cache in Singapore (by "Rubberdad") of the same nature, and this entire series would not have been conceived if not for the inspiration and excitement baekno and I had in solving that cache.
Many of the puzzle ideas, too, were inspired by various sources. Part 2 was based on a puzzle created by "korsmofamily" in Oregon, Part 3 was inspired by mathematical artist Vi Hart on Youtube, and Part 4 was inspired by one of the "tuptim" puzzles in Bangkok.
I am also grateful to tzutzanu who introduced me to the "Geocaching Puzzle Help" Facebook page, which has been a good exposure the a variety of puzzles around the world, and for encouraging me to design more puzzles. Lastly, a great thank you to everyone who enjoy puzzle caches in Singapore and around the world, for keeping this great aspect of geocaching alive.
