A basic cache that brings you to a lovely off [main] road parkng spot. A great rest spot prior to, or when coming from, Corinna.
Savage River, a mining and accommodation area does not offer the tourist much apart from The Big Tyre [where there is another cache]. It must often lead to parking in the area alongside but it is not pleasant there. This cache has been placed to bring you to a nice quiet area that offer plenty of room for big rigs and even caravans will have no issues with turning. A quiet view over the hills and a peaceful resting place after probably taking 40 minutes to do the 25k drive from Corinna if you have an RV, or perhaps a last rest and leg stretch to get you ready for that drive to Corinna. It is a beautiful drive but take care as the road is winding and narrow [even more so than normal].
