A wonderful 20 minute [one way] hike through rainforest and the opportunity of continuing to the summt of Mt Donaldson with sweeping views that include views of the Pieman River.
One can park or camp right near the Savage River [WP]. The Mt Donaldson walk is a 3 to 4 hour return hike and this cache is about 20 mnutes into the walk. If continuing, if it's a warm to hot day, please note that the last part of the walk is very exposed with no shelter. Please carry water and use sun protection. The track is very good and the grade is easy to moderate and consistent. At this cache location the flora changes from rainforest to eucalyptus. Please replace this traditional cache carefully.
