We all have them, probably more than one (or 5 or 10). Some are big and some are small. There are bright ones and some are more of a glow.
Long ago all we had were incandescent; sometimes plug and sometimes screw.
Then came the exotics like krypton and halogen. That was good but they got HOT and would dim to save the circuits.
At last there was LED and all was well until the market was a flood with Crapp-o lights of all sizes, shapes, and hat sizes.
What to do, what to do? And along came CREE! At over 500 lumens each, it’s a bright new world! But why stop there? Where one CREE would do, why not use three? Or five or seven or fifteen!?!
It will be dark! Oh, so dark!
This is a new moon and our venue (camp sienna) is a four hundred acre recreation area bordered by the Brazos River, undeveloped land, and inaccessible land. Even though there are neighbors 1/2 mile away, they are hidden by the Levee. It will be dark.
Camp Sienna is a dawn to dusk park but I have the proper permits for this night time event.
This is a attendee participation event!
Please join us from 7:00pm to 11:00pm on April 18th and don't forget to bring your trusty torches!
Here’s the current line-up of activities:
- The biggest, the brightest, and the best.
- Burn down test: How long will it last
- Fire tracks night cache (unofficial)
- There's an app for that... But which one is best?
- Flash light history show-n-tell (if you have some old stuff bring it along)
- All batteries are the same, right? Mawhahaha....
There WILL be prizes!
We will have the pavilion, so feel free to bring snacks or kid friendly beverages to share.
