Geocache Description:

A cache located near Ponevitch Yeshiva in Bnei Brak; part of the "Hills of Bnei Brak" series.

This cache is located near the Ponevitch Yeshiva**, one of  the foremost  centers of the “litai” (non-Chassidic) Orthodox Jewish community.

The Yeshiva was originally established in the town of Panevėžys, Lithuania . Towards the end of the second world war, Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman, the "Ponovezher Rov", re-established the yeshiva in Israel. He selected and appointed Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky as dean, and some years later appointed Rabbi's Elazar Shach and Dovid Povarsky as co-roshei yeshiva.

The yeshiva has over one thousand students, and is arguably the leading Litvak-style yeshiva in Israel today.

The main study hall has an original 16th century Italian wooden Aron Kodesh (Torah scroll arc), which was restored and regilded with 22 carat gold leaf work.

-Be sure to copy from the log the hint for the “Hills of Bnei Brak: the Final (Meiyene HaYeshua)” cache.

-NOTE THAT THIS CACHE IS LOCATED IN AN ORTHODOX NEIGHBORHOOD AND CAN NOT BE DONE ON FRIDAY AFTER AN HOUR BEFORE SUNDOWN, NOR ON SATURDAY  UNTIL AN HOUR AFTER SUNSET, (OR ON JEWISH HOLIDAYS). Failure to respect this request will be at the cacher’s own risk, and will result in the cache being archived by the CO.

-  Also please dress in modest attire *, not only to respect the residents of the area, but not to stick out like a sore thumb! Bnei Brak has the densest muggle population is Israel;  by respecting the mode of dress in the area you are more likely to be able to retrieve the cache discretely.

* MEN: preferably long pants and a shirt with sleeves, and some type of hat

 * WOMEN: Best is a long skirt and a blouse with at least short sleeves (and without a plunging neckline)         Pants (not tight) are preferable to a mini skirt

** A “yeshiva” is a post-high school institution where Talmudical Law is studied
