Take the Cow Gulch Rd. Park at the gate. The hike is a 0.2 mile from there. The panoramic views from the top include Mount Shasta, Lassen Peak, the Trinity Alps Wilderness and the Yolla Bolly Middle Eel Wilderness. Also 2 benchmarks are at the top. The area had a fire in 2008 but the lookout was spared.
Looks like it was partially renovated - it is not available to rent, but it is a great place to explore.
A good off road vehicle will get you here! Floflower gets the credit for bringing me up here, came up to get her cache and it had been muggled.
