The Theme for Earth Day 2015 is It’s Our Turn to Lead
According to the Earth Day website: "2015 is Earth Day’s 45th anniversary and it could be the most exciting year in environmental history. The year in which economic growth and sustainability join hands. The year in which world leaders finally pass a binding climate change treaty. The year in which citizens and organizations divest from fossil fuels and put their money into renewable energy solutions. These are tough issues but we know what’s at stake is the future of our planet and the survival of life on earth. On Earth Day we need you to take a stand so that together, we can show the world a new direction. It’s our turn to lead. So our world leaders can follow by example."

We will pick up trash throughout Sheridan Park with provided trash bags. (Please bring your own gloves, if desired.) We will also have a limited number of designated areas in the park for those who prefer assigned areas.
There will be a brief raffle at the conclusion of the event, including a copy of the popular new 297 page book, "How to Puzzle Cache," written by Cully Long. To find out more about this book: Click here.
We will have water and snacks. If you would like to bring a snack or beverage to share, that would be wonderful.
A number of caches are available at or near the park. There is a wonderful EarthCache located right within the park. To keep with the CITO theme and intention, our focus for this event will be on trash pick up.
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
Each person who logs an “Attended” for a CITO event on April 25 or April 26 this year earns a 2015 CITO souvenir for their Geocaching profile.
