This cache has been archived.

MaliBooBoo: Thanks to everyone who contributed and participated in this BBQ. It is your effort that made this event so enjoyable. It was great to see everyone and fun to do so by a campfire! Perhaps we should look at doing something like this again.

Geocache Description:

  • Event Date: May 2, 2015

  • Location: Pendleton Creek Recreation Site, about 20-25 minutes west of Kamloops approximately 3.8km off of Highway 1.

A summary of what people are bringing to the BBQ:

  • Jazzpurr/CGQ: hot dogs
  • Pro&Cras: cookies
  • Mrs Zee: condiments
  • dhoward: pop on ice
  • canuckdog/Dave SP: potato salad
  • Tech Nic: hamburger buns

Here is what I can think of that we still need:

  • fried mushrooms for burgers
  • more chips
  • a desert
  • an appetizer
  • juiceboxes
  • nenners, kpnieder and I will be bringing firewood, but you can never have too much firewood :)

I will keep these lists updated over the week as people post information.

There unfortunately aren't any picnic tables at this rec site (ATVers apparently like the option of "circling the wagons" when camping). I think we have enough folding tables for the food etc., but everyone should bring a camping chair to sit on.

For those who are going to camp or are thinking about camping I should pass along that, as far as I know, fees won't be collected this weekend. However, it may be a bit loud because of the motorized use that occurs here.

Holy moly! It’s been 15 years since geocaching was invented. Let’s celebrate by gathering around a nice campfire, eat some awesome flame-broiled food, and reminisce about all the good times that we have had geocaching over the years!

This will be held at Pendleton Creek Rec Site (more commonly known locally as "The Pond") and will be a potluck. I will bring the burgers. Will need others to volunteer in their "Will Attend" log to bring wieners, buns, condiments, pop. The idea is to cook everything on the fire so I may need help with this, depending on the number of people attending.

If there is enough interest, we could extend this event into a campout. Let me know if you’d like to do this. (Cost to camp at this Rec Site could be $10 for the night if they are collecting this early in the year. Cost is $5 for seniors).

If it is raining on this day don’t let that stop you from coming out. I will have the area sufficiently tarped up if need be. There are no picnic tables at this site, so please bring along a folding table if you have one.

I look forward to celebrating the good times that 15 years of geocaching has brought us all!
