Geocache Description:

Located in the town of Ely, MN. Ely is the canoe capitol of the upper Midwest. The town has been nicknamed the town at the end of the road. From here you can enter The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW or BWCA).

The BWCA is a 1,090,000-acre wilderness area located in northeastern Minnesota, in the Superior National Forest under the administration of the U.S. Forest Service. It is renowned as a destination for both canoeing and fishing on it's many lakes and is the most visited wilderness in the United States.

The Echo Trail and Fernberg Road allow access to the many entry points into the vast wilderness that surrounds Ely.
