SMILEYS!
That’s the theme for our seventh annual Fired Up for Geocaching Event in El Dorado, Arkansas, this year.
NOTE: The event will be held at a new location this year. The details are below:
DATE: Saturday, August 15, 2015
WHERE: Great Lakes Pavilion on Feed Mill Road, near El Dorado
10:30 a.m. - Gather to visit with friends
12:00 noon - Time to eat
1:00 p.m. - Time to give away door prizes and recognize geocachers
2:00 p.m. - Event is over. Go geocaching!
There is plenty of parking room. This year we have access to an air conditioned building, with bathrooms, next to the large pavilion area. Food will be served inside the building, but there will also be lots of seating outside in the pavilion area. Some of the activities will be held outside. There is a playground for the children. It is a dog-friendly area, too.
FOOD: This year we will provide sloppy joes, buns, plates and plastic ware utensils. The rest is potluck. If you will bring drinks, beans, chips, and/or desserts, it will be greatly appreciated. Please write a note and let us know in advance if you will bring something so we can be sure there will be drinks and chips for everyone.
DOOR PRIZES: If you would like to donate a gift to be given away as a door prize, we would be happy to put it on the door prize and give-away table.
MILESTONES: As usual, we would like to know in advance if you will be celebrating a geocaching milestone and will be attending the event.
THEME: This year the theme is SMILEYS, so don’t be surprised if you see lots of yellow items and items with smileys on them.
SOUVENIR: Attendance at this event will qualify you for one of the six new GEOCACHING ROAD TRIP ‘15 digital souvenirs. To earn your "Meet Your Road Trip Crew" souvenir, all you need to do is attend a geocaching event before September 3.
WHAT TO BRING: Another geocacher, your trackable items, your GPSR, food and drinks as set out above.
PLEASE SIGN UP EARLY SO WE WILL KNOW APPROXIMATELY HOW MUCH FOOD TO PREPARE AND HOW MANY GRAB BAGS TO PREPARE.
