Harnischfeger County Park has benefited from having several Eagle projects completed there. These include the canoe launching area. the frisbee golf course, two boardwalks in the wet areas and a Geocaching course that I have not tried and was done by a troop from Bay Lakes Council, which is just north of Potawatomi Area Council. Potawatomi Area Council is one of the smaller Council's in the United States. It consists of Waukesha county and small areas of four surrounding counties. It rates among the best in percent of youth enrolled and percent of youth retained. It also has a very high rate of Eagle Scouts, with about 140 Scouts attaining that rank each year. This cache is located at the southern boardwalk, which is labeled on the park map as Eagle Boardwalk. It was done by a Scout from Troop 43, which is sponsored by St. Henry's Congregation in Watertown. Scouts from this troop have also done the other Eagle projects in this park, including another boardwalk just north of this one. Enjoy the walk to this cache. When walking to the site I saw deer and 3 snakes. You will note the sign very near the cache that tells about the Eagle project. Permission to place this cache was given by John, the park ranger. On Oct 7 I replaced the cache with a winter friendly cache. It should now be able to be found in all seasons. The hint still is valid. If you found it already, you may find it again and post a new log. This is a fragile cache and will need to be replaced with the same sides in the same positions. Some cachers may find this cache as a one difficulty and others may rank it as a three.
