Geocache Description:

Located in Barkcamp State Park in OH.

South of Interstate 70
West of St. Clairsville, OH
Take Exit 208
Route 149 South

Preferred parking is at the following coordinates:
N 40 02.650 W 081 00.319
This will place you .3 miles from the cache. You’ll be able to follow a bridle trail most of the way. (If you don’t know what a bridle trail is, substitute the word mud for the word bridle and you’ll have the general idea!)

To get to the above coordinates you need to go through a certain gate. (You’ll know what I mean.) If that gate is not open you’ll have to make a right turn and park at:
N 40 02.539 W 081 00.623
This will place you at a main picnic grove and you will start your adventure approx .33 miles from the cache. The gate seems to be closed during the off-peak season. Hiking in from here will involve some bushwhacking skills but will cut down on the bridle/mud experience. This will also increase the overall terrain rating to about a 3 or 3.5.

If you have the time and the grit, park near the park office and off you can go from there. The park trails and pathways from here can make for a pleasant day hike but be aware that the entire hike can then be as much as 5 miles all told. But the park is very well kept and the day would be well spent. Do a little fishing if you have a mind to.

Wear appropriate clothing and be prepared to get a little dirty/sweaty at best.
