While camping isn't required, it is definitely encouraged.
We will be at campsite 13 at 2 pm...unless we can attain access to a pavilion. Check back for updates! We'll get the campfire going around 4:30 pm and you're welcome to bring whatever you'd like to roast! Be sure to bring a chair so we can sit back and swap caching stories and experiences. Campsites are $18 a night with 2 tents and up to 6 people allowed per site. Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-677-3668 or online here . To make reservations, there is a 2 night minimum, or you can just get a site for 1 night the day of the event. There are also cabins for those that want to participate in a less rustic manner. I'm going to camp Friday and Saturday night and we'll work on a CITO event as well. We encourage reserve your campsite early and hopefully our cachers can get the spots next to use and create a Geocacher compound. If you choose not to camp, there is a state park access fee of $2 per person (free for those 62 and older and 3 and under) and gates will close at 10 pm. Lake D'Arbonne State Park has lots of caches and much to do! There is a beach, canoe/kayak launch, fishing pier, playground, and hiking and more. We're working on a T-shirt that will be for sale as well as a few items to raffle off. Please feel free to bring an item to add to the raffle (and to the fun!). If you'd like a T-shirt, please email me with your actual and your caching name, the number, and sizes you'd like. The more accurate number I can get, the easier and quicker it'll be. Log your will attend to keep up-to-date to any announcements that will be made about the campout.
