Geocache Description:

You are looking for a gelato container with camo tape around it. You are going to 1659 feet. Bring a pen!

This cache encourages you to notice the trees around you. A Western Hemlock (bacon strips) and a Sitka Spruce (potato chips), share a spot on the forest floor. I stopped to catch my breath and thought it an ideal spot for a cache...and a hiking break!

Winter friendly, probably not!

This hike can be thought of in thirds, the first third is fairly easy and good trail that takes you over Paris Creek and the Treadwell Ditch and through a muskeg meadow. The second third is steep as the trail sometimes goes straight up. This cache is in the steep section.

If you hike farther as most folks will, the final third is less steep, but requires close attention as there are some drop offs. Stay on the established trail!

When you break out of the forest you will have outstanding views of downtown Juneau and the town of Douglas. As you rise, great views of Admiralty Island can be seen as well as islands and mountains in all directions.

The mountain was originally named Jumbo after the mine at the base. I was changed to Mt. Bradley in 1939 to honor the former president of the Treadwell and A-J Mines, Frederick Worthern Bradley. Locals call it Mt. Jumbo.
