For the new cachers amongst us - what to do and expect should you come across a Letterbox Hybrid cache, a different type of geocache that children might enjoy.
You will need an ink pad and a notebook - your own small rubber stamp or paper punch. A tissue and/or wet wipes would be useful to clean the stamp, blot prints dry and wipe wee fingers clean. Some letterbox caches do contain their own Ink stamp, but they have a habit of leaking or drying out.
The cache is hidden at the page coordinates like a traditional cache but will contain its own unique rubber stamp. The idea is to make a print with it into your own notebook and in return (if you have one) leave a print of your own personal stamp in the cache log book for others to see.
Each letterbox cache will have its own signature stamp, it is not a swap item but remains part of the cache - its removal would spoil the game for future collectors.
Letterboxing is another activity with similarities to Geocaching, but participants do not use GPS. More information can be found here:

Look out for more letterbox hybrid caches hidden around the countryside and see how many different imprints you can collect.
