Peterson Point Fire Lookout was built in 1930. It was only a crows nest and tent cabin. In 1941 a 66' wooden L-6 tower and cabin were built. The tower and cabin were destroyed in 1950s. All that remains is a large turn around and a wooden post. There is supposed to be a benchmark, but we could not find it. Couldn't find any concrete blocks either.
The cache is a regular size with a log book and trade items hidden at the highest point. There are a couple ways to get here. We came in from Scotts Creek Campground. Road is good, rocky in spots. Access road to the lookout site is good.
Elevation 6,190'.
