While you're here, enjoy the peace of the forest and enjoy the birds. While placing the cache, I heard tui singing to each other and a grey warbler. Have you heard of 'forest bathing'? Something the Japanese have been doing for many years and you could enjoy it too - it's simply walking in a peaceful forest and letting that peacefulness and the essence of the forest wash over and relax you. Enjoy!
This geocache is hidden at the base of an old tree, which has a variety of other plants growing from it, so much so that it's difficult to make out what species this is. Perhaps you can figure it out! One of the plants growing up this tree is a rata vine, which has made the shape of a cross right across the trunk of the tree. Find the cross and then find the bottom of the tree and the geocache is under a small log.
This geocache was originally placed here for Conservation Week, 2015.
