Walk, cycle or drive to this crossroads of the Kaniere Waterrace Walkway, the Westland Wilderness Cycle Trail and Wards Road.
The walkway follows this peaceful water race from Lake Kaniere to the crossroads and then continues west to the small hydro power station passing the race here and there. The water race was developed over 100 years ago and still forms part of today's power generation system for Hokitika. The new Wilderness Cycle Trail shares the walkway from the lake to this crossroads so you can arrive on foot, two wheels or even four.
