The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.
The property has been in the family since the summer of1979 when Don and Joan bought it. The barn was built in the early 1900's. It was used for dairy farming, and is now used for machinery storage. The barn is made out of wood.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Brad Bates of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
