Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES It is at N44°AB.CDE W88°FG.HIJ

Inspired by recent conversations with some of my artist friends, I decided to explore the valley a bit and share with you some of the places where each of them have left an impact on the physical and metaphysical landscape of the Valley. The Artisans of Appleton series will reveal to you just how much our cherished Fox Valley artists have contributed to the arts and culture of this place. It should make you proud call the Valley your home.

If you happen to be an Appletonian, you've no doubt seen one or more murals painted on exterior brick walls around town. This phenomenon is not unique to Appleton and in fact can be found in many downtowns across this great state, including Stevens Point, Watertown and Plymouth just to name a few. In many of those towns a series of murals is painted by a singular artist or small group of artists.

Here in Appleton, that artist is Chad Brady. If you spot a large outdoor mural in Appleton, there's a pretty good chance it's one of Chad's. Each of the waypoints will bring you to an outdoor mural or perhaps an indoor piece of art that is still visible to any passersby through business window.. You do not need to enter any establishment to view these works to come up with the numerical answers.

UPDATE: 9.11.22 A lot can change in 7 years and certainly the number of murals and proliferation of even more public art in Appleton has done just that. In fact, this cache was published before the addition of 20-some sculptural artworks were added to the Fox Valley through the ACREofART exhibiton.

Chad has unofficially moved out of Appeton, leaving behind a vast and rich catalogue of murals. Sadly, a couple of his most engauging murals are now gone or covered but many, many new ones have been added in thier place. The original series of mural questions have been updated a bit AND a whole other series of questions for a second solve have been added.

A: The second oldest Chad that can be seen from two stories features this many creatures floating on the water.
B: The only quadriptych in another exotic establishment features two die, both of which have this numbered face forward.
C: A recent addition to the magical hardscape of Appleton's oldest entertaining establishment, features a number of happy trophy holders with this many Blue Ribbons.
D: NEED NEW CLUE.
E: The door into this this chaotic collection of murals hosts a sharp graphic with this many phalange holes.
F: Upon arguably the most prominent public mural is this this many feathered friends assisting a furry one.
G: This signage for a soulful dining establishment was created using this many repurposed themed cases.
H: The proprietor's possessive last name on this monumental can of swill is this may characters long.
I: In this mural of mobility, this many passengers are getting connected to other places in the Valley.
J: On the oldest Hanging Chad, this many things are taking to the air. Some with wings and an equal number without.
