On the Saturday before Mardi Gras every year Lafayette hosts 2 parades. The Childrens Parade which starts at 12:30pm and the Krewe of Bonaparte Parade which stars at 6:30pm. Both parades are fun and enjoyable and safe for the kids.

Each year for about the last 20 or so I've rented out 1/2 of the local First Presbytarian Church parking lot and set up camp for family and friends to enjoy the day visiting and enjoying a little Mardi Gras fun.

Since there will be at least 5 full time cachers there anyway, I thought an event was in order. We'll be there early and will be there till after the last parade passes by. I'll have my trackables for discovery and a few for trade. Bring those that you want discovered or that you want to move on. We can and will discuss our caching adventures and for the first timers, we can answer any and all questions. Look for me by the pit.

Parking will be crazy, but find a place anywhere and hike on down to where we are. It'll be great to see old friends and new faces.

If you plan on sticking around for a while it might be a good idea to bring along some chairs, some drinks, some snacks, sun screen (maybe), umbrella (maybe), etc. We'll have a couple bar-b-que pits there and if you want toss something on them bring it too. We always have extras of everything so if you forget something, no worries. Nobody will go hungry or thirsty.
