"In 2002, when visiting, I decided to hide a couple of caches while in the MKE area. They were both in similar containers. I hid one in a park area near Port…that one was called Upper Lake Cache. I guess I didn’t hide it well, because a month or so later, it was pillaged taken…I had to disable it. I am happy that Independence Day in Waukesha County has been in existence for over 5 years…I don’t remember the original contents…but I always put “bought” stuff in the caches as I have not been fond of those that use free stuff gotten from places like Burger King. I think there was an eyeglass repair kit…a Marriott cork screw, sewing kit, bike reflector lights…now that I think of it. It was the first time that I spent the 4th of July not doing something according to someone else’s plan- thus…I named it Independence Day."
