12.6.2016: Korjattu maastoluokitus oikeaksi.
Alkon Rajamäen tehtaalla valmistettiin sodan aikana panssaritorjunta-aseena käytettyjä polttopulloja, jotka tunnetaan nimellä ”Molotovin cocktail”. Talvisodan aikana niitä täytettiin Rajamäessä spriillä ja muilla palavilla nesteillä yli puoli miljoonaa kappaletta, mutta valitettavasti ensimmäisiin pulloihin oli jäänyt osoitteeksi Alko – Rajamäki, ja tehtaan alueelle putosikin 268 pommia.
Tykkitorneja suunniteltiin jo ennen talvisodan syttymistä suojelemaan Alkon tehdasta, joka sijaitsi torneista koilliseen, mutta tornit valmistuivat vasta välirauhan aikana 1940–41.
Tiettävästi torneista on ammuttu vain yksi laukaus 25.7.1941, koska vihollislentäjät osasivat varoa torneja ja lentää tarpeeksi korkealla.
Tornien alaosissa oli miehistösuojat, joihin kuului valtava meteli, kun tykillä ammuttiin. Läheisen tenniskentän vieressä näkyy vielä tänäkin päivänä neljä perustaa, joilla sijaitsi vartio- ja tähystystorni.

Alueella liikkuu paljon nuoria jästejä, koska se on mm. partiolaisten, koululaisten ja päiväkotiryhmien suosiossa. Siispä varovaisuutta kehiin, kun lähestyt apuvälineen kanssa kätköä!

Alko distillery in Rajamäki produced Molotov cocktails deployed as anti-tank weaponry during the World War II. Over half a million bottles were filled with spirit and other flammable liquids during the Winter War, but unfortunately the first bottles had Alko – Rajamäki signature in them, resulting in 268 bombs falling to the factory grounds.
These two defense towers near the cache were planned even before the war to protect the distillery, which resides north-west of the towers, but it took until the time of truce 1940-41 before they were actually built.
It’s known that only one shot was ever fired from the towers, 25.7.1941, because enemy fighters planes knew how to avoid them and flew high enough to be safe.
Below the towers there are crew shelters, where an enormous racket was heard from the firing turret. Near by the adjacent tennis court you can also see the foundations of a surveillance tower.
Young scouts and schoolkids favor the area, so be careful when you approach the cache with your assistive tool!
