Translation: A Welsh Daughter in New Zealand.
While we were in the UK earlier this year, we visited The Mother Cache (GC15RYZ) in Clwyd in North Wales.
This cache, which was placed in 2007 by Team Marzipan, has been kept replenished with a supply of daughter caches to be taken and placed elsewhere.
Over a hundred daughter caches have been taken and placed, mainly in the UK, but also some in other countries. We’re not aware of any having gone to New Zealand until now, and at about 19070 km or 11850 miles, we think this will probably be the daughter who has emigrated the greatest distance from The Mother Cache.
We have built a nice little house for her, just off Wales St, and hope she will feel at home here.
Although the original daughter cache was stolen, we were able to replace it with a similar cache given to us by the owners of The Mother Cache when they visited New Zealand, and did this several times as they too disappeared.
Unfortunately, as too many of the nice little caches created by our Welsh friends, have gone missing, reluctantly we have had to put just a plain logbook in the cache.
It may be wise to avoid looking for this cache when there is activity at the nearby sports field, or at school starting and finishing times.
