Cache Clean-up Crew
Cache Clean-up Crew is a ragtag band of Geocachers from across the state who decided to do something about a Geocache site that is in desperate need of clean up! And...
WE KICKED SOME SERIOUS GEO-TRASH!
The problem area was "discovered" when Geocachers placed a cache near the Winnsboro Reservoir in Winnsboro SC, and found the area had been trashed and asked for some cache-in-trash-out help. Others went to seek the cache and found even more than they bargained for…after some discussion amongst ourselves we decided to do something about the mess… And we wanted to have fun doing it! In addition to enlisting help from the town…
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Some Fine Examples Of The Trash
So here's the deal…
To log this cache you must come to the posted coordinates during the designated time and help us clean up the area. Please bring a friend (non-cachers are welcome) and a join us in the fun. We will take care of hauling the trash to the appropriate disposal facility.
Friday October 11, 2002 - The town has completed installing barriors to prevent people from driving into the area and dumping trash and junk. A survey of the trashed area was completed by the Cache Clean-up Crew and a town represenative so we can direct our efforts where they will do the most good. Large deposits of trash have been plotted so you can hunt some Geo-Trash. The large items including Tickheads couch (just kidding about it being Tickheads, he claims that he really never wanted it!) have been removed. The town is going to provide us with a rented Port-A-Potty for the day. They have gotten bags from the DOT and are going to supply a trailer and several herbie curbies for transporting the trash.
As an ADDED BONUS(as if feeling good about helping clean up the environment and meeting other area Geocachers is not enough) we will also have a supply of refreshments, snacks, and maybe even some prize winning Chili on hand for your enjoyment.
