Cache is located high above the thriving metropolis of Mendota, Virginia.
The views from here are SPECTACULAR!! However, this cache is NOT in an improved park. It is on top of a ridge (elevation 3045) just north of Mendota, Virginia. (elevation of Mendota is 1356) At the top of the ridge, there are no guard-rails or fences. Children should be well-supervised at the cache location.
Parking for the cache is at N 36.43.671, W 082.18.077 (elevation 2784). The parking area is a widening in the road. There is off-road parking a little further up the road. From the parking area, it is .4 miles to the top of the ridge with an elevation change of almost 300 feet. Follow the old road up the mountain. Cache is a little beyond the clearing at the top. You will need to follow the trail past the overlook. Enjoy the view, but BE SAFE!!
