Geocache Description:

This cache can be found in many (although not all) states and in many countries outside the US as well. If you're in oil country, a find is possible.

If you're not from an area where oil is produced, you may think that all oil rigs have those tall structures above them. Actually, once the well is producing, the derricks are gone, and replaced by simple pump jacks. In oil country, pump jacks are a common, often boring, everyday sight. Some well owners have a sense of humor about the business and the equipment, and make an effort to transform these everyday objects into folk art that entertains and amuses passers-by. The ingenuity of the owners is reflected by pump jacks that have transmuted into birds, airplanes, butterflies and other bits of moving sculpture. Some photos of this type of folk art are included as examples. To log this cache, you must find a decorated pump jack. Each pump can be logged only once, and each cacher can only log this cache a single time. Post a picture of the decorated pump jack and tell us where you found it. Please post the coordinates of the find, and any additional background information you can provide.
