Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the top of the Conococheague Mountain on Big Round Top. It is approximately one mile from the parking area.

John L. McCaskey, one of the founders of the State Hemlocks Association, requested to be buried with his wife on this beautiful mountain overlooking the Hemlock Natural Area. He was instrumental in preserving this natural area early in the 20th Century. Follow the red blazed Big Round Top Trail to get close to the cache. John and his wife Clara watch over the cache from their location at N40º15.509 W77º38.616. Enjoy this trail, watch for wildlife (we saw a flock of turkeys when we placed the cache), and don’t forget to thank John and Clara for keeping this area preserved.

To start your hike, park at N40º 15.456 W77º39.394. The hardest part of the hike will be scrambling up the bank to get to the trailhead. After that you will have about a one-mile hike to the cache.
