Gateway Park:
This little park is part of the NewTown Macon Project. How odd though this park is part of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail yet it is on the wrong side of the river?!?!? Well the original plan was to have this park as the gateway to the 13 mile greenway. Norfolk Southern was asked to move their railroad to the otherside of the river meanwhile Macon built this park and NS decided not to move the railroad so this is the gateway to the muddy waters. This little park has a fountain for kids to play in an overlook to the river and stairs leading to the river's edge (literally). One down side is there is no parking provided so when you go to the park you could park across the river at the trail and walk across the bridge or park at some of the gas stations nearby.
To log the cache you will need to travel to the cords, where you will discover the overlook. On the ground of the overlook there are bricks forming a ______ that surround a beige ______. Tell me what shape this is. Also you will need to go to these cords N32 50.305 W083 37.289 and tell me what year is written on the notebook or take a picture of yourself and your GPS with the statue.
Happy Hunting!
