The Old Customs House Museum in Clarksville, Tn., has over 35,000 square feet of galleries, exhibits and hands-on activities. There is also an excellent museum store where you can pick up some unique souvenirs of Clarksville and Montgomery county. The museum is Closed on Mondays. It is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues. thru Sat., on Sundays, the museum is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is a small admission chare on some days, and there are days when admission is free. Check before you go.

This is an outstanding place to visit, and especially to bring the kids, there is a section of hand-on activities geared just towards them. There are also two great operating model train layouts, and a variety of interesting artifacts and displays relating to local history.
