About 3 miles SW of Portal, AZ in the Chiricahua National Forest. A short 10 minute hike from the Vista Point pulloff.
A Trogon guards this treasure. You may see him or hear his barking call as we did while placing this cache. The cache is a small, dark green plastic toolbox, placed under the larger of two parallel old logs in a small grove of trees. Be forewarned the Chiricahuas are full of rattlers so be careful where you go poking! The main treasure is a description of an unpublished cache site in the Chiricahuas. Look for a small game trail about 65 feet east of the telescope. The entrance to the trail is bordered by two large rocks. Take the trail eastward toward the treasure.
