Well there are a box full of State Quarters cache’s out there and we thought that we put out something new and different for your enjoyment.
State Plates Cache.
This is a cache out in the wide open spaces of South Central Oregon where YOU will be bringing something along to leave.
Do you have some old state license plates hanging around somewhere ? Maybe on the back wall of the garage ? Maybe on shelf in the garage ? How about on an old rig parked out on the back 40 ?
Well, here is a place to get rid of them.
Please bring a plate to post as that is what this cache is all about.
I have permission from the owner of a large Cattle Ranch, Bell A Land and Cattle Company, for people to be able to come by and nail those old plates to a post on her fence.
No hunting for the location as you will be able to drive right up to it.
Please park in the wide spot across the highway from the posted numbers, look for cars, trucks, lose cows and maybe the lone Bear before crossing the road. Or do like I do and just pull off into the ditch off the highway.
Below the posted numbers will be a hammer and can of roofing tacks for you to use to nail those pieces of tin to a post with.
As of 4-12-02 there is a ammo can for your trade items, per normal for caching. No need to cross the fence so please do not.
If you want/need some food, the closest restaurants are either Fort Rock, Christmas Valley or Summer Lake unless you have reservations at the Cowboy Dinner Tree. The Silver Lake Store closes at 7:00 pm weekdays and 3:00 pm Sunday's. The Silver Lake restaurant has been closed down late 2007.
Every once and a while, there are some extra chunk's of points or stone tools stashed in the cache for you to walk away with, just take one to a customer please.
Whoever puts out the last plate that completes the 50 states will get a special prize.
