This cache is placed on the "Lost Loop" section of the Cross

point, this cache can be had by a hike as short as 2.5 miles or as
long as 10.5 miles. Please remember

The Cross Timbers Hiking Trail was built by the Corps of
Engineers in1969. It is maintained by many groups including
Scout groups, the Dallas chapter of the Sierra Club, and the Texoma
Outdoor Club. Trail maps are usually available at all
trailhead register stations, as well as at the gate shack in East
Juniper Point from April through October. It is not a
topographical map, but gives enough information to easily and
safely navigate through the area.
A permit for camping is not required; however, it is necessary
to register at the gate shack in East Juniper Point from April
through October. If you visit the trail from November through
March, and any other time of year, please sign in on the
registration sheet at the trail head.
Water IS NOT available along the trail, except in the developed
recreational areas. If you plan on camping in one of the
wilderness camps, please either bring enough water for your entire
stay, or bring water purification equipment. I would suggest
double treating any lake water you plan on drinking (filter and
iodine/other chemical).
Please be prepared when attempting this cache. You will
need a map, a compass, and at the very least a lot of water if day
hiking this cache. It's out there, now go find it!
