The cache is wedged under a boulder just over the top of a ridge. The clear Rubbermaid container with a white top is also protected from view by some rocks and branches.
We originally planned to place this cache in nearby Locust Lake State Park. But that park has a "no-pets" policy, we were told at the entrance. (The no-pets policy isn't clearly spelled out on the Locust Lake park's web site.) So we drove six miles to Tuscarora.
We were glad we did. We enjoyed a great hike on doubletrack and on a strenuous and sometimes rocky trail, watched a deer watching us from about 10 feet off the trail and were calmed by the almost continuous music of birds and the wind in the trees.
The cache contains a logbook and camera, a CD, a booklight, bungee cords, dice, a robotic dog keychain, a pocket knife and some "wildlife." There are also some treats for canine geocachers.
You’ll also find some special reading materials on the Locust theme, including the lyrics to a Bob Dylan song. Feel free to read them, but please put them back in the cache for others to enjoy.
