Park either at the top near the Outhouses or at the PCT trailhead.
This cache is NOT in the wilderness.
I found Wilderness boundary markers and placed the cache well within the open area.
I had to move the cache to get it out of the wilderness area and this is the new location. Anyone finding it previously will be allowed to sign again at the new location. This is now a rough access cache and I have doubled the ratings. Be careful.
We, Red and I, Called this one Island for a reason. Looking Northwest from the cache you can see the "Island" in the Lava flow where the cache used to be. This one is a summer time show after the road is opened by the highway department.
Snow. Buckets full of snow so watch the weather and road reports for this cache.
Take your good boots. Take heavy leather gloves and a walking stick as well. Maybe some knowledge from our “Gnarly Dude “ cache as for the terrain you will be into.
Take some water, you just might need it. Take your camera, the scenery is first class. Oh, as for the road into this area, take nothing over Thirty-Five foot long, that is all that is allowed on the road.
