Easy find after a scenic drive.
Take the time to enjoy a snack in this abandoned picnic area. It is never busy and always beautiful with spring flowers, summer shade or fall colors. (I have never tried snow in the winter)
This is the site of many happy childhood Sunday afternoon picnics with aunts, uncles and cousins. The parking lot had more than a few classic touch football games. Across the road from the area is a trail that goes to a spring about a half mile north. the trail goes farther, and hits the fire road to Little Bald Knob
If you approach from Reddish Knob, (the north) the last two miles or so are on dirt road. If you come from the south the dirt approach is longer than that. While the road surface was full of pot holes and rocks, my Caravan had no problems.
