Located on Soubunge Mtn. in Northern Maine, West of Baxter park and East of Chesuncook lake. Leave Grandma at home for this one.
You'll need to get to Millinocket, and onto the Golden rd going north for this one. After travelling on the Golden road for a while you'll need to turn right onto the Telos rd, and head north towards Harrington lake. There will be an entrance to some camping areas on the left side of the road near the northernmost tip of Harrington lake, I recommend driving in here and parking at: N45 57.891 W069 11.907. You'll also want to get to the parking spot sometime before 3pm, cause you wont want to start this difficult journey anytime later than that. This is a climb for only the true hiker, there is no trail, and you have to zig-zag your way up even the most gradual incline. There is a bit of a marked "trail" on the way out though(some trees marked with paint on the sides facing up the mountain). The views are great from the top. I estimate a 2 hour climb if you're good, and only a 45 minute decent. The cache lies at the peak of Soubunge (pronounced: Sow-Bun-Gui), and the container is a 1 gallon Igloo screw-top container. The nifty items are very much worth the climb, you wont be dissapointed, especially if you're first. Logbook is a KMX notebook.
