This cache is at the site of the former BC Forest Service fire lookout. The lookout was burned in the early 1980's and all the remains is the foundation and an outhouse.
To get to this site turn off highway 3/95 onto Sunrise Road at the south end of Moyie Lake. Continue on this road and take the left turn at 2.5km and continue uphill past the pipeline compressor station. At the 13 km marker take the road that turns off to the north. This road takes you to the Telus microwave site just below the old lookout location. This is a mountain road but should not require 4 wheel drive. There is lots of room to park near the towers. You can drive up the last hill to the lookout site but a 4 wheel drive would probably be needed. If you hike the last part from the towers it is less than half a km uphill.
You can also get to the 13 km marker from Tepee creek as Sunrise road continues over the mountain and joins Tepee creek road.
You can also find a couple survey markers embedded in rock near the lookout foundation.
