The cache is one of two I have hidden in Welwyn Preserve of Glen Cove.
The cache is a .30 cal ammo can. I saw this preserve in a hiking book and thought I would try the place. It is beautiful. You can spend some time there. I may even plant another cache or two there in the future depending on how these two do. Stick to the trails until you get near the cache site. Also of interest is the L.I. Holocaust Center which is on the site. The preserve is open from 9:30-4:30. I believe it is daily, but I am not 100% sure.
Tree cover makes this one difficult. I had 20ft accuracy when I planted it but it seems to be giving everyone difficulty. It is just off a trail and don't let its name fool you.
Because of time limitations I have included directions to the preserve:
Take Glen Cove Rd. North till it ends. Make a right onto Brewster Street and then .5 miles later make a left onto Dorsoris Lane. Take Dorsoris about .7 mi and make a left onto New Woods Rd. Take new woods to the end and make a right onto Crescent Beach Rd. The preserve entrance is the first right.
Please hide the cache well when you put it back. Happy hunting!
