How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
Most of this cache hunt is on level trails with a few small hills and and only short distance from trail. Plan on walking 2 miles or more round trip.
All but the first part of this cache are in Scott County Park.
This is a multi-part cache with the main cache an ammo box, and originally containing the following goodies: Photo frame clock, claw hammer, flashlight, ball and deck of cards. There was also a camera, which cachers used to take pictures and log the photo numbers. The pictures could be posted when the camera was full. Now people can take and post their own pictures via portable cameras and/or smartphones.
There is also a mini cache along the way with a few small items and a log book.
At the starting coordinates, when did the sheriff die?
Month (A B) Day (C) Year (DEFG).
Part 2 is a pill bottle with directions to next part.
It is located at: 41 4(A+B).(B+C)(F)(G+A) 090 3(G-D).(F-G)(B+C+G)(E-B)
Be discrete so no one sees you at a cache as there are many hikers and dog walkers on these trails.
Good luck and hope you have as much fun finding it as we had planning it. Take your camera to take lots of wildlife photos along the way. We saw a Blue Heron take off.
